Getting to the Liebenzell USA Guest House & Retreat Center . . .
. . . from NEW YORK (Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island) via the Outerbridge Crossing; from central NEW JERSEY; Route 287 – New Brunswick, Perth Amboy and Edison, Routes 1 & 9, the New Jersey Turnpike; from southern NEW JERSEY via the Garden State Parkway:
• Take Route 440 to I-287 North; follow to Exit 21A
for I-78 WEST.
• Get on I-78 West and follow to Exit 24 (OLDWICK
/ WHITEHOUSE / Route 523).
• At the end of the exit ramp, turn right at the
traffic light onto Route 523 North.
• In about two miles, Route 523 turns to the right;
you continue straight on what is now Route 517 North.
• Stay on Route 517 for about 9 miles. You pass through
the quaint town of Oldwick (Speed Limit 25 MPH) and go straight through the
traffic light at Fairmount until you reach Long Valley.
• At this traffic light, you will want to continue
straight, although the road makes a quick "jog" to the right and then
the left. This is still Route 517 North.
• Immediately after the light, you'll cross an old
stone bridge and then begin traveling up the mountain. Follow this road for
about 2 miles, through another traffic light until you reach the intersection
with Pleasant Grove Road. The Schooley's Mountain Fire Company and Emmanuel
Bible Church will be on your left.
• Turn left onto Pleasant Grove Road.
• If you are coming to the Guest House, go about
100 yards and turn right on to Heath Lane. Go about two-tenths of a mile and
the Guest House will be on your left. Bear to the left to enter the driveway
as Heath Lane curves to the right.
• If you are going to the Retreat Center, follow Pleasant Grove Road for eight-tenths of a mile; the Retreat Center is on your right.
