Directions to Liebenzell - Poconos, DWG, 80

Getting to the Liebenzell USA Guest House & Retreat Center . . .

. . . from northern PENNSYLVANIA, Pocono Mountains, via Route 80 through the Delaware Water Gap; from northwestern NEW JERSEY:

• Take I-80 East through the Delaware Water Gap from Pennsylvania into New Jersey. Follow to Exit 19 (HACKETTSTOWN /ALLAMUCHY/ ROUTE 517). If you are coming from northern New Jersey (Sussex County) follow 517 south from Sparta through Andover to junction with Route 80 and continue south to Hackettstown.

• At the end of the exit ramp, turn left at traffic light on to Route 517 South;

• Follow Route 517 for 5.5 miles into Hackettstown until you come to a traffic light at Main St./Route 46. The Hackettstown Trading Post will be on the left corner.

• Turn left at the light onto Main Street; this is Route 46 East and Route 517 South.

• Go one half mile to the second traffic light. A Hess Gas station is on your left.

• As you go through the intersection, bear to your right, making sure that the Shell Station is on your left. This is still Route 517 South and it is now called Mountain Ave.

• Follow this for about one mile, past various fast-food places on your right and the Hackettstown Mall on your left. You will go straight through two traffic lights on this stretch and after the second light, make sure to move to the left hand lane.

• At the third traffic light (with the Golden Skillet restaurant on your left), go straight through and over a bridge. This is still Route 517 South and it is now called Schooley's Mountain Road.

• Travel up the mountain to the top – about two miles – and you will come to a cross roads intersection. Heath Lane turns to the right and Flocktown Road to the left. You will see a sign for Liebenzell on the right. There is a large eagle carved from an old tree on the left.

• If you are going to the Guest House, turn right onto Heath Lane, go about 300 yards and you will see the Guest House directly ahead of you. Turn into the driveway on the right and go around the building to park.

• If you are going to the Retreat Center, stay on Schooley's Mountain Rd. for another two-tenths of a mile, passing the General Store on your left. Turn right on to Pleasant Grove Road. Emmanuel Bible Church will be on your left after you turn. Follow Pleasant Grove Road for eight-tenths of a mile; the Retreat Center will be on your right.
